I first thank you for your time; I know it is valuable, and I’ll try to be brief. However, there’s something I would like to share with you. As we look at the events in our world today, we realize that things are headed in a difficult direction. It seems there’s confrontation around every turn, starvation, famines, sickness, extreme earthquakes, mass killings globally, war, and rumors of wars, and experiencing global inflation at record levels. Although we are living in tough and difficult times, I’d like to share with you how you can have peace in the uncertain days ahead.
I often think about the disciples of Jesus Christ and how he taught them using a storm on the lake. "Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy." (Luke 8:22-23 KJV)
Although the disciples were in jeopardy, they regarded Jesus Christ as their only hope. "And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him." (Luke 8:24-25 KJV)
Jesus was the solution to the disciples' problem. And we must ask ourselves the question: how can he bring calm to the ever-changing circumstances in our lives? If people knew the historical account of the blood sacrifice or atonement that was established after Adam and Eve sinned and continued through the time of the Prophets until Christ fulfilled the Law by taking upon himself the sin debt of the whole world. It’s interesting that the world's major religions are dependent upon what man can do, or works salvation. The false teachers of this world are blindly leading millions into a works-based salvation by demanding they must pray 5 times a day, give and perform fast certain times of the year, or must be sprinkled by baptism waters at birth. Or get off the wheel of life by spiritual enlightenment. The common denominator among the world's false religious systems is Works. They’re dependent upon what they can do. Many religions around the world today have begun moving away from the blood sacrifice.
